About Vaporox Therapy

We're excited to introduce Vaporox Therapy (VHT), or Vaporous Hyperoxia Therapy, into our wound care services. This cutting-edge treatment accelerates healing in patients with chronic, non-healing wounds.

Vaporox Therapy Q&A

How Does Vaporox Work?

This wound care treatment combines ultrasonic vapor and concentrated oxygen to promote faster healing. FDA-approved for wound care, the procedure involves positioning a treatment chamber around the wound while we administer a low-frequency, non-thermal ultrasonic mist along with topical oxygen. This combination stimulates new tissue production to promote faster healing of chronic foot wounds. Treatment is usually administered two to three times a week in sessions lasting approximately 40 minutes each.

Benefits of Vaporox Wound Care

This wound treatment can:

  • Speeds up wound healing
  • Stimulates new tissue growth
  • Reduces the risk of infection by creating a controlled environment, giving bacteria less opportunity to enter the wound

Is Vaporox a Stand-Alone Treatment for Foot Wounds?

Vaporox should not replace other wound treatments. Instead, it works in combination with other treatment options to speed up healing. As an add-on therapy, VHT has an 84% healing success rate, even for stubborn wounds. Plus, due to its effective amputation prevention, Vaporox is covered by Medicare and many other insurance, making it an affordable and effective treatment option. "
